Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park
Located on the Milk River, Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park is set in southern Alberta – just over two hours southwest of Medicine Hat. Covering 17.80 square kilometres, the park safeguards both a nature preserve and assortments of aboriginal petroglyphs.
An Áísínai’pi National Historic Site of Canada – meaning a UNESCO World Heritage Site – Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park features bird-watching, nature viewing, and walking trails. Founded in 1957, the park contains the most expansive concentration of First Nation rock carvings in North America’s great plains.
