From: Edmonton. Take Highway 16 West, approximately 350 kilometers. As you turn off the highway clearly marked Jasper, you will enter the town site on Connaught Drive. Travel three blocks, turn right on Bonhomme Street. Travel two blocks to the corner of Geikie and Bonhomme. The Best Western Jasper Inn and Suites is situated on the corner of 98 Geikie Street.

From: Calgary. Take Route 1 West- Trans Canada Highway West towards Banff. Merge onto Route 93 North/Icefields Parkway. Route 93 turns into Connaught Drive as you enter the town site. Continue thru the town site, leaving the business section and entering the residential area, turn left on Bonhomme Street, travel two blocks to intersection. The Best Western Jasper Inn and Suites is located at the corner of 98 Geikie Street and Bonhomme.

One of the best ways to see the beauty of the park, is from an enclosed tram cabin aboard the Jasper Tramway. The tramway remains Canada's highest and longest guided aerial tramway. Located southwest of downtown Jasper, the tramway ascends from 4,279 feet to a height of 7,472 feet to the Upper Station.

Passengers marvel in the views of the six mountain ranges, along with amazing views of the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park. Enjoy the seven-minute ride to the top, while listening to the tour guide provide information on the area's history and points of interest.

Enjoy a meal in the Treeline Restaurant, located at the Upper Station on Whistlers Mountain, and take it all in. The Gift Shop and Snack Corner at the Lower Station also offers clothing, souvenirs and food. 

Maligne Lake

Visit Maligne Lake for a breath-taking view of the towering Canadian Rocky Mountains, against the gorgeous lake. Located in Jasper National Park, Maligne Lake is a wonderful Jasper attraction. The tiny Spirit Island in the middle of the lake is one of the world's "most photographed" location. Enjoy a scenic 90-minute boat tour to Spirit Island during the spring, summer and fall to really appreciate the lake's beauty.

Mount Edith Cavell

This impressive park encompasses over 2,700,000 acres of land and is home to the Columbia Icefield, Pyramid Lake, Maligne Lake, Athabasca Falls, the Jasper Tramway and Mount Edith Cavell.

This beautiful mountain, located in the Astoria and Athabasca River valleys, was named after English nurse Edith Cavell in 1916. Cavell was killed during World War I for helping soldiers escape to the Netherlands from Belgium.

One of the prominent features of Mount Edith Cavell is Angel Glacier, hanging on the north face of the mountain, above Cavell Meadows. Enjoy hiking to the meadows for great views of the glacier and the mountain peak. Rock climbers have access to a variety of climbing routes on the mountain, including the West Ridge, East Ridge and North Face routes.
