Visiting Southern Alberta

Southern Alberta is at its most vibrant this season. Make the most of summer weather summer weather by taking to the Great Outdoors – Southern Alberta is home to some of the most awe-inspiring slices of nature in the world. About an hour outside of Calgary, the neighboring communities of Canmore and Banff are ideal launch pads for explorations of Banff National Park and Spray Valley Provincial Park. Hike through dense coniferous forest, get up close to a range of wildlife, and spend some time on the legendary Lake Louise.

Not much further northeast, Red Deer offers all kinds of outdoor fun. The paddleboats and canoes are available for rent at Bower Ponds. Countless hiking and walking trails surround the water, along with lush grass fields, as ideal for a game of soccer as they are an picturesque picnic. Red Deer’s Kerry Wood Nature Centre is a great option for animal lovers, who will have the chance to spot wildlife like deer, moose, fox, a range of waterfowl, and more.
